When our partners over at VOX presented us with a script idea based around how Spotify’s algorithm works, we jumped at the chance to present our storyboards and develop the design language.

The team at +DISPATCH wanted to tackle the design in a way that would showcase the mathematical prowess of the Spotify algorithm while humanizing it with a real thing viewers could touch.

 

So how does +DISPATCH design data and give it a fun humanistic twist? We based our designs on the dots and lines that made the algorithm, so in every frame you can feel the data elements merging with an organic feel.

Than from our editorial and animation, we wanted the creative information to be communicated in a clear and concise way by calling out key phrases that made this a somewhat complex idea digestible.

The result was a sharp increase in Spotify brand awareness as a technology company, as well as a major increase in downloads from this campaign alone!
